Business Technology Training Programs

The Business Technology Career Center, develops locally based approaches to increase earnings and advance employment outcomes such as work readiness, employer linkages, job placement, educational advancement and financial literacy to DC residents.

Eligible activities include helping communities: develop and implement local and regional programs to respond on behalf of affected workers and businesses; strengthen or develop emerging industry clusters; prepare and train the existing workforce for new jobs in high-growth or in-demand sectors and occupations; and develop and execute coordinated economic and workforce development activities based on communities’ strategic plans. These activities should result in more skilled workers moving into new job opportunities.

BTCC major programs include training to upgrade current skills, retraining to acquire new skills and competencies, entrepreneurial training, social media training, professional development training, business management and administration training, as well as professional resume writing, career counseling and virtual career counseling services.

BTCC programs also enhance participant awareness about debt reduction, spending money
within a budget, saving and investing wisely, how to increase their net worth, and using credit
cautiously. BTCC initial goal is to support Public Housing Authorities that will enable
